Website Developper/ Designer

What is it?

A Web Developer/Designer concerns themselves with the online presence of a company, determines how best to present themselves, what resources their organization wants to offer online, and then implementing their plan.  They take into account what type of organization it is, what functions the organization wants to offer online, and the organization's resources and shortfalls, and works to overcome them.

How is IT involved?

IT is a core part of the Web Designer/Developer's job.  The internet, the world wide web, and all associated online functions are so dynamic that a real working knowledge of not only the current trends and tools is essential, a great knowledge of the history of web development and the future of web design are essential for a great web developer.

Where can I see it?

Almost any corporate website has had a web designer or developer work on it for a great length of time.  Modern organizations' websites are, for the most part, too complicated to be the work of a single person, protocol, or piece of software, so it takes a Web Development team to imagine, create, and maintain a corporate website.

How can I be a part of it?

Web Designers/Developers have a very strong foundation in computers, networking, and telecommunications.  Strong math and communications skills are also a must to comprehend the data pertinent to the running of a website, and a good knowledge of database management is also very useful.
