Government of Canada - Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC)

HRSDC's mission is to enable Canadians to participate fully in the workplace and the community. HRSDC takes an integrated approach to human resource development goals, enabling Canadians to manage transitions in their lives by encouraging them to become self-reliant, invest in them and become more adaptable. Emphasis is placed on proactive measures such as labour market intelligence, life-long learning and other social and workplace measures.

ICTC participates in HRSDC's Sectoral Partnership Initiatives Program. Under this program, HRSDC provides funding to carry out national, human resource related projects with partners such as ICTC. Under these projects, partnerships are formed amongst industry, government and educators, which are focused on achieving common objectives. The DiscoverIT.org website is funded by the Government of Canada’s sector council program, under the Canadian Information Technology Career Awareness Initiative.
